The MTC is helping to transform UK industry for a sustainable world. As part of the High Value Manufacturing Catapult (HVMC), The MTC has significant capability across many manufacturing technologies, from component manufacturing (HIP, AM/3D printing), Non-destructive testing and laser processing and welding, to automation/robotics, digital engineering (eg. digital twins) and informatics/AI. Technology Transformation is also a crucial element of our innovation focus, ensuring new automated and digital approaches are successfully embedded within organisations. The MTC leverages the significant investment in our capabilities to enable lateral innovation, establishing best practice taken from other technically demanding and regulated sectors, such as aerospace and automotive, and applying them to the highly innovative area that is fusion and its related technologies.
